Broken Tradition
Since Carin and I moved to Crested Butte, every St. Patrick’s Day, I would go to the Umbrella Bar, sit and relax and have a beer. I tried to make it happen again, but the crowds on the mountain were too bad. You have to take two lifts to get to the Umbrella Bar. I got in line at the Red Lady Express at 14:15. Taking Red Lady was the first mistake. After I got in line, I noticed the ski school people were just pouring in. I should have taken the Silver Queen. Too late. I finally got on the lift at 14:45. I have never seen a 30 minute wait at CBMR. I didn’t make to the Umbrella Bar until 15:20. 20 minutes after they closed. We’ll maybe next year.
So Carin and I ended up going to Tully’s in CB South. I had the bangers. (Sausage on mashed potatoes, onions and gravy). It was actually quite good. I also got to drink my beers (Guinness). So all-in-all still a successful Saint Patty’s Day celebration.
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

One Man’s Trash Another Man’s Treasure
This short slide show has pictures of the seats from the old Mile High Stadium that my brother in-law and I sat in for 24 seasons. When they destructed the stadium they sold the seats to eligible ticket holders. I ended going to the games for 38 seasons in total . The NFL was still fun for me back then.
The other picture is of a bench from the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Same thing… they sold the old seats when they replaced them with new ones. This bench is one of the originals. If it could speak, what a story it could tell of all the concerts there.
