We had a big snow that started just before the holidays. I was actually skiing on the day that it kicked off. We got about two feet in the first 24 hours and then 4-5 inches a day for several days.
As you can see from the Crested Butte News, we had a total of 99 inches. That’s a little over eight feet. This is the biggest single event storm Carin and I have seen since we moved to Crested Butte. It’s not the biggest accumulation we’re seen (yet, but that could change).
It took me about 2.5 weeks to clear our 12 roof lines, the driveway, the backyard (for the boys) and the path along the windows for our garage. I burned 10 gallons plus of gas in all my snow removal machines. That’s a lot of gas for small engines.
I slipped and fell on some ice in the backyard about a week ago. It nearly knocked me out. Both of my shoes and glasses came off. I’m still sore for that, but I was able to go skiing last Thursday. The snow was great, obviously.
